Twenty Days in Colossians: Set Your Mind on Things Above
Do we study Jesus to discuss Him or learn how to follow Him? If one studies Jesus to discuss Him, they reduce Jesus to just a topic. However, if one studies Jesus to follow Him, they use Him as an instrument for personal transformation.
In Paul’s letter to the Colossians, he challenges those who have been “raised with Christ” to “seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on the things of the earth” (Colossians 3:1-2). When Christians change their mindset, their transformation will follow.
This study encourages personal growth through increasing in the knowledge of Christ. Warren Berkley draws our attention to the text of Colossians highlighting Paul’s message of Christ as the center of our lives. In “Another Look,” Randy Harshbarger reflects on the text’s message.
