Elisha the Prophet: Taking Up the Mantle Teacher Edition

TAKING UP THE MANTLE Teacher's Edition

What does it mean to remain faithful when the world around us turns away from God?
Step into the life and ministry of Elisha the prophet and discover powerful lessons about faith, courage, obedience, leadership, commitment, and trust in God. Serving during a time of widespread idolatry and spiritual decline, Elisha demonstrates that faithful people can stand for God and make a lasting difference—even in difficult times.

This Teacher’s Edition is designed to make each lesson practical, engaging, and ready to teach. Every lesson provides the teacher with a clear path from Scripture to application, including:

From Elisha’s call to take up Elijah’s mantle to his encounters with kings, miracles, enemies, and ordinary people, this study goes beyond simply learning what happened. It challenges students to consider what Elisha’s faithfulness means for their own lives and their own generation.  Elisha lived in a changing world. So do we. His example reminds us that God’s people can remain faithful, serve courageously, and take up the work that must continue.  Teach the lessons. Explore the text. Strengthen faith. Take up the mantle.
