Christian Scholar (Biography of Hall Laurie Calhoun)
"The Christian Scholar" is the biography of Hall Laurie Calhoun, writer, teacher, and preacher.
His life began in the 19th century and ended in the 20th. He saw and influenced many of the changes taking place in the church during those tumultuous decades. While still a minister for the Christian church, Calhoun was offered a faculty position at the Nashville Bible School if he would renounce instrumental music. He refused. Years later he became associate president of Freed-Hardeman College and renounced all ties with the Christian Church. Calhoun was a giant of his time.
