Before Abraham Was: Genesis 1-11 & Job
Apologetic Study of the World Before Abraham: Genesis 1-11 & Job
Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am” (John 8:58). Before Abraham existed, Jesus was already in the everlasting present tense. It was during this time and even before time that the events which shaped all times occurred. The Bible’s records of these events provide a foundation for building an understanding of the world that is both true and satisfying. They explain the origins of the earth and all the heavenly bodies, man, the animals and all other life, marriage, society, sin, death, suffering, natural disasters, languages, nations, ethnic groups, and more. This study book carefully examines this foundation from the first eleven chapters of Genesis and the book of Job. Through this examination and the tools of Christian apologetics, answers for life’s most pressing questions are found and defended. These answers give strength so that students of the Bible may protect their faith in God and help others to understand the truth of God’s word.
Before Abraham Was is the first book of this series focusing on Genesis. This book is useful as an aid for both group and individual Bible studies. The other books in this series are: Abraham, Our Father in the Faith (Genesis 12-25) and From Promises to Providence (Genesis 25-50).
