Realized Eschatology
Among those marked in Scripture as false teachers were Hymenaeus and Philetus, in 2 Timothy 2:16-18. These two were identified by Paul as having “gone astray from the truth saying that the resurrection has already taken place, and they upset the faith of some.” In 1971 this doctrine of the resurrection having already taken place was re-birthed by another teacher, Max King in Warren, Ohio, with the encouragement of his father-in-law, C.D.Beagle, and the publishing of his book,THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY. This doctrine, called at various times Realized Eschatology, Kingism, Covenant Eschatology, AD 70 Theory, and lately Transmillinialism, has continued to grow and gain footholds with the reprinting of King’s book, publication of various papers, lectureships, and websites. Those promoting such activities have grown so bold as to encourage Christians who are worshiping where this doctrine is unwelcome, to stay in those groups, but send their contributions to their magazines to support the teaching of this error. It was error in the 1st century and remains error in the 21st. It needs to be resisted.
Carl McMurray explains this and more in this 4 fold tract.
